​We are looking for an Associate Civil Engineer​ for our Development Services team.  

The Associate Civil Engineer is responsible for a variety of civil engineering work in connection with the review of development projects, primarily focused on plan review and conditions of approval (e.g. right of way dedication and im​provements). Examples may include site plans, parking lot and driveway configuration, roadway and intersection plans, striping plans, and traffic signal plans. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Sacramento County’s Improvement Standards (or similar) and demonstrate experience managing a team in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment. 

The Associate Civil Engineer is the first level in the civil engineering series requiring registration as a civil engineer. Under direction, an Associate Civil Engineer performs difficult and complex engineering work and acts as supervisor to a small group of engineers and/or paraprofessional engineering staff. The Associate Civil Engineer should demonstrate good time management and communication skills, and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, subordinates, project applicants, and their engineering consultants. Associate Civil Engineers may serve as project engineers on several major/minor development projects.​
