We are looking for Associate Civil Engineers for our Transportation
Planning and Programs team. The ideal candidate will good management, writing, and communication skills. Prior experience with state and federal transportation funding and/or knowledge of alternative travel mode programs preferred, but not required.
This position is dynamic with varying tasks and increasing level of responsibility. Ability to communicate with coworkers, willingness to work with outside agencies and the public is essential. Strong project management skills and organizational skills are required.
Work may be assigned in support of any of the responsibilities of the Section as described below:
Project Management Assistance
- Assist the Design and Capital Improvements section with project scheduling and consistency
- Maintain project scheduling software and develop project delivery efficiencies
- Assist with the processing of timesheets with MS Project
- Understand goals of a project and assist with meeting milestones and delivery.
Management of funding programs for capital improvements and roadway maintenance including:
- Preparation of the Department's 5-year Capital Improvement Plan
- Monitor and report on the delivery status of projects
- Ensure compliance for federal, state, and local fund requirements
- Administer development fee programs
- Development and scoping of potential projects
- Grant writing as requested
