Rio Linda Blvd Bridge Replacement

The Sacramento County Department of Transportation is moving forward with construction of the Rio Linda Boulevard Bridge Replacement Project over North Channel Dry Creek near Crystal Road.  Some preliminary work may occur prior to the start of construction; however, the detours will not go into effect until major project work begins.

Construction Activities

The project was bid on May 17, 2018 and awarded to MCM Construction, Inc. The anticipated construction time period is July 9, 2018 to October 26, 2018. Watch for signs that will show the actual project start and completion dates.

Detour:

Project work requires the complete closure of Rio Linda Boulevard from Marysville Boulevard at Claire Avenue to Marysville Boulevard near 4th Avenue. Local access will be maintained for property owners and residents to access their properties. Detour signs and electronic message boards will be in place prior to the closure.

Project work includes:

  • Replacing the existing bridge with a two-span reinforced concrete bridge.
  • Construction of ‘see-through’ guardrails on both sides.
  • Pavement improvements and widening to accommodate the increased width of the new bridge to provide space for future Class 2 bikeways.
