To facilitate coordination of utility relocation work, SACDOT maintains an up-to-date listing of public and private utility related entities. This list should be consulted for utility related contacts whenever utility relocation work is necessary.
Utilities are obligated to relocate affected facilities when needed to make way for roadway improvements. For this reason, “ABC Plan” procedures were established to assist local cities, counties and utilities in coordinating utility relocation work. These procedures were established by the local chapter of the American Public Works Association Joint Utilities Coordination Committee.
