Folsom Boulevard Complete Street Master Plan

The Sacramento County Department of Transportation is moving forward with a project to develop a Complete Street Master Plan (Plan) for Folsom Boulevard from Watt Avenue to Bradshaw Road and Hazel Avenue to the County/City boundary.  These portions of Folsom Boulevard are in the Sacramento County unincorporated area. The development of a "complete street" for Folsom Boulevard will benefit all roadway users: motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists and transit.

The Plan will identify future design guidelines for roadway segments and intersections and will emphasize "Complete Street" ideals that accommodate sidewalks, bike lanes, medians, crossings, bus turnouts, lighting, landscaping and streetscape amenities. The Plan will identify sustainable features including energy efficient street lighting, low impact development (LID) green-scape and green-street elements as well as other improvements to enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety and health while benefiting the community's quality of life.

Project Components

  • With the aid of the community, develop a multi-modal complete street master plan.
  • Prepare construction documents and plans for the future implementation of master plan projects.

Complete Street Definition

Complete Streets are streets for everyone. They are designed to enable safe access for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders of all ages and abilities.
